I bought these to put on our back sliding doors so I'd know when the kids went outside. I really like the chime feature, its loud sufficient to hear through most of the house. They go on so simply, and are inexpensive. The alarm function is LOUD...so they'd work fantastic for that goal, as well. There is also an off switch, so that is great.
I read the other reviews prior to posting this one. In the initially review, the poster stated the alarm was loud sufficient to hear, in most of the residence. I believe that is a perfectly correct statement.
The cause, I am only giving these alarms an average rating (3 star) is for the reason that I want to be able to hear an alarm all through all the whole home! I want the alarm to be loud adequate to wake me in a dead sleep, from the other side of the house! I want an intrusion alarm to be loud adequate to wake my neighbors (and there is NO way these alarms will)!
The package claimed the alarms had been 120 db. As a person who is familiar with decibels, I can guaranty these alrms are NOWHERE close to 120 db!
