The PIR sensor operates fairly nicely. It scans every single 5 seconds reacts very easily. I ordered added sensors to compliment the Air Alarm kit I ordered. The adjustability of the mounting makes it simple and easy to aim when a mounting location is selected.
Of the three sensors, there is 1 that appears to have 1 undesirable trait. I am unsure if it is special to that sensor or if it is simply because it is in a high site visitors location or undesirable luck with 9V batteries. The PIR scans each and every 5 seconds according the manual and when it detects motion, it glows red. The sensor in question has employed 3 9V batteries given that it was mounted. The original battery did not final especially lengthy and I assumed it was since it was a no name battery included with the unit. The second lasted 3 months and it did not glow "white" when the battery is low according to the manual. The red LED basically would was not as vibrant as standard (it was a 9V that I had, but tested "really good" with the battery tester ahead of installed- so it could have been just undesirable luck with two batteries). It is on it really is third battery in six months. That is the only concern that has come up given that the installation and so far just with 1 of the three PIR sensors. The Air Alarm and sensors are not even one particular year old however, but the PIR does perform as stated.
When these operate, they are awesome. I presently have 5 installed, and normally speaking, they perform properly. Then again, of the eight total that I have ordered, I have had challenges with three: a single wouldn't turn on at all, 1 looked like it was turned on but wouldn't detect motion, and the third a single detects motion inconsistently. I'm returning the two that don't perform at all (by way of Amazon) I will update the critique if there are any challenges with the return.
