I bought the two camera method and this camera is Super! Yes you have to run a wire to power it (Duh!). But the signal is sent through two.4ghz. RF (the wireless component). You can mount the little DVR anyplace that you can get reception. I have mine down in the Den subsequent to my recliner, but, you can move it conveniently if you require to monitor from, say, the kitchen. The two way "intercom" is good to have!
If you have to have power outage protection, you will need to have to install a ups power outlet for each camera (use one particular for a computer system and hook the camera provide into the outlet from the ups)
I set up the system and installed two cameras in an afternoon without having any anxiety. It did take a tiny organizing, but, it was actually straightforward.
It is a lot cheaper than the multi thousand dollar systems. And the pictures (even following dark) are spectacular!
I have this up and running for one month and it is terrific...the image good quality is decent, sound good quality great, and night vision is superior, I would invest in this again..A+
